Werewolf Guidelines
Before applying for acceptance as a Werewolf, please read through the guidelines listed below.
What Are They?:
Werewolves are the most unusual creature in that they doesn't technically exist except for a brief period of time around the full moon. At any other time, a werewolf is a completely normal human. However, the term werewolf is used for both the wolf-like creature and the normal human.
Classified under both 'Beast' and 'Being', Werewolves must register. Upon registering they will be considered a citizen. If they don't they will be considered illegal and if exposed will be hunted down.
Where are they Most Prevalent?:
Werewolves are most common in Germany. Werewolves tend not to travel in packs, giving them a scattered appeal. They have roamed all over the world and thus came be found virtually anywhere. Many werewolves that choose to be in backs stay in deserted places and some even house near schools.
How Werewolves Are Created:
A werewolf comes into being when a person is bitten by another werewolf. Once this happens, the person must learn to manage the condition. Modern potion-making has come up with a draught called Wolfsbane Potion which controls some of the worst effects of the condition. Wolfsbane Potion is quite difficult to make, even for fully qualified wizards, and is said to have a rather disgusting taste. It is not known if Wolfsbane potion is made from the plant called Wolfsbane. Nothing will completely cure a werewolf, unfortunately. Can Muggles become werewolves? Why most certainly, and they are usually the ones who are. With no magic to fight of the beasts they are most likely to be bite. But they will never grow to control their powers and will be slaves to the moon phases. Muggles also have the hardest time with the transformation. Their souls are scattered and twisted and given unnatural powers that they can not wish to understand.
Special Powers:
Lycanthropy *[may be controlled.]
Regenerative powers
Agility, Quickness, and Sexual drives intensified
Weaknesses:
Pure Silver
Mercury
Destroying the Heart or the Brain: Piecing the heart, much like in the case of a vampire, is said to kill a werewolf.
Unusual Behavior:
Werewolves are aimed at obtaining a maximum of pleasure and a minimum of pain, or even asserts that the desire for pleasure and the fear of pain are the main motives of all our actions. In human form they usually are compelled to withdraw into them selves and at night they let themselves go. Wandering forest at night attacking anyone who gets in his or her way.
What They Feed On:
Raw meat, any will do.
Werewolf goring's or attacks are investigated by the Dept.for Regulation of Magical Creatures and particularly dangerous werewolves are tracked by Aurors. Registered non-killing werewolves are allowed rights as 'Beings' and are protected from persecution to some degree. Dangerous werewolves will be destroyed.
Alignment:
Generally considered evil by nature due to killing humans for food and the cursed nature of their affliction. This can be controlled to some degree by feeding on surplus blood supplies and not harming humans, however the hunger for blood can be overwhelming and difficult for vampired to control.
How They Can Be Destroyed:
Ablation of heart or the brain. Werewolves can be killed by any wound that destroys the heart or the brain, decapitation of its head and removal of its heart, or any form of death that causes brain or heart damage (such as hanging or other oxygen-deprivation methods).
Using silver or Mercury is very effective in killing werewolves. Making them into bullets, daggers, swords, etc are prime methods. Silver is a metal has long been prized for its mystical properties. Its influence ranges from zero to being the only thing that can injure or kill a werewolf.
Can They Have Children:
Certainly not. Werewolves infect others with Lycanthropy and through that, you may call that breeding. Even though they have a heighten sexual drive they have no way in producing children. The only way a werewolf would have a child is if they where bitten after they had the child.
Appearance:
They are never quite Wolves. Even at the peak of their transformation they retain many of the features of Men. Werewolves are hollow-eyed, burning of skin, with fangs protruding from the lower lip. They travel alternately on all fours and on hind feet; their legs are calloused and scabbed. Hair will be found on the palms of their hands and on the soles of their feet. The longer they continue their foul practice the less difference their is between the one guise and the other.
When the moon goes down and the sun is out once more they will turn back into their normal human counterpart.
Ministry Laws or Regulations:
The Ministry of Magic Dept. for Control and Regulation of Magical Creatures requires all victims of werewolf bites to immediately owl in for registration forms and pamphlets. Werewolves are asked to not visit the Ministry of Magic offices due to the risk of exposure to sunlight in its offices.
Registered Werewolves maintain 'Being' status and are thus given rights as American citizens so long as they do not break the Werewolf Code of Conduct which states that they must comply with all Ministry laws of acceptable behavior [mainly not killing or performing illegal magic, thievery, biting to create new Werewolves, using animagus form for illegal activities, etc...]
Un-registered Werewolves do not have rights in America and are considered illegal and life-threatening residents.
Any killings or attacks proven to be attributable to a particular vampire carries a 'death sentence' - in other words, a Ministry Specialist will be put on the case to destroy the dangerous creature before they can do more harm to the public.
Werewolves are allowed to attend WCA, but must take Wolfsbane Potion and be under lock and key when there is a full moon.
Employment:
Due to fear, hatred, and discrimination by wizarding and Muggle society, Werewolves are not allowed to work in most businesses. Shopkeepers most likely will be disgruntled even by having them in their shop because of the fact that they 'scare off customers'. However, it would take a very brave shopkeeper to turn them away as they make dreadful enemies. The most likely employment opportunities would be at a Werewolf-owned business or a business that caters mainly to Werewolves clientele. But under new laws that have appeared, you can not ask a werewolf if he is indeed one. So many job opportunities have opened up for the werewolf kind. It may be possible that the Ministry may have representatives who would speak on behalf of Werewolves in government situations. Overall, Werewolves skirt on the fringes and after dark.
Discrimination/Acceptance:
The vast majority of people in the Wizarding and Muggle worlds despise, fear, and discriminate against Werewolf. There are some who have less fear of them or feel they are misunderstood, but they are the minority. Most wizards and witches would avoid any contact or shun a Werewolf in their midst, although some miserable souls might actually be attracted to the idea of immortality and the possibility of causing fear in others.
Allegiances:
In order to ally with Lord Voldemort you must discuss with him in advance and be accepted, but do not assume that you are 'on his side'. [per Voldemort]
Ways to Subdue/Attack/Kill Werewolf:
Silver bullets or weapon
Ablation of heart or the brain
Wolfsbane Potion [prevents metamorphism, as long as they stay away from the moons rays.]
Powerful Stunners and Petrification Spells [temporarily subdues]
other...? [Recommend in a reply post if you have more to add]
UNACCEPTABLE:
Any crossover references related to films, books, television, etc... This is Harry Potter and not a crossover RP. If things start becoming too muddled with outside influences then I will have to pull in the reins. This means that the Werewolves we are dealing with are based off of traditional ancient myths not from any modern Werewolf myth. Don't use lingo specific to a film - that is considered crossover. Do not reference characters from books or films - also crossover.
Warnings:
Due to the fact that there is a strong need for things to not get way out of hand with crossovers and posting that goes against these guidelines, I will be instituting a warning system. OOC warnings will be issued, and if they are not edited or behavior altered, I will be placing members in warning status. Second level warnings that are not heeded will result in account suspension. [Note: This is going to be instituted all over the board not just for this group, so dont feel special. I don't expect you will purposely break rules anyway.]
To prove that you have read this in its entirety, you are required to type the word 'crescent-moon' in the word verification section on your application in order to be accepted. This is to prevent skimming of rules.

2. Bill Weasley

The oldest son of Arthur and Molly who worked for Gringotts as a curse-breaker in Egypt. Bill has longish, bright red hair and an earring made from a fang. He is "cool," according to Harry, and he caught the eye of Fleur Delacour at Hogwarts.
3. Remus John Lupin
March 10, 1959 (or 1960) - ?
JKR: "Lupin's a wonderful teacher and a very nice man but he has a failing and his failing is that he does like to be liked and that's where he slips up because he has been disliked so often that he's always so pleased to have friends so he cuts them and awful lot of slack"
[This list may be edited and updated in the future - changes will be noted and sent out via PM or linked to the calendar. Werewolves are required to keep up to date with site regulations - not doing so may result in warnings or suspension of the character.]
[Werewolf Character List:]
There will be no more than ten active vampires on the board at one time total. If a Werewolf is not posted for more than 3 weeks, they will be archived and removed from the active list. If a new vampire applies and is accepted in that time, they will be given post access and the other vamipre will have to wait for an opening in order to actively post again.
