About the School:
West Coast Academy was founded by a group of Spanish settlers in 1795. It had originally been designed as a Spanish Mission for protection purposes (However, in the remodeling efforts of 1925, it changed it's appearance from Spanish Mission to Boarding School and now they use many more protection charms and spells.). The mastermind of this academy was Mariano De Tolosa. He wanted a place where young witches and wizards could come to practice and learn new things that could help their education, and he thought that this "new land" in California would be perfect. For the first years that the school was run, there was an extremely low number of attendants, but soon that changed and young witches and wizards flocked to the brand new teaching facility. Now, the school is one of the best Witchcraft schools in the world and has been debated as one of the best in America (competing with Salem Institute). West Coast Academy is also a place where students live along with getting an education. They have a choice of staying at the school or going home for Winter Break, but must leave the school during Summer Break. The four houses (Cermenho, Anza, Garces, Vizcaino) all have their own separate dormitories and are then divided into male and female. There can be from 5 (small dorm) to 7 (large dorm) students in each dormitory.

Houses
Cermenho
(Ravenclaw)
"House of the Wise"
Named after the first wizard to come up with the formula and ingredients for the Polly Juice Potion. Quite, but very strict. He was brilliant beyond words, but sometimes confusing beyond records.
Anza
(Hufflepuff)
"House of the Loyal"
This house was created by a just and loyal woman. She helped all four of the houses get along in time of hardships. One one momentous occasion she headed a special meal were she proclaimed, "It is are duty as fellow wizards and witches to love and protect each other, to provide each other adequate support, because you never know what act of kindness may produce heaps of benefits to you in the future. So, with this glass in hand, I would like to toast to the brotherhood of all the houses and through their unity will the darkness that has come so many times be cleared!"
Garces
(Gryffindor)
"House of the courageous"
The man who created this house actually became the first person, who had lived in America, to defeat and capture an egg of the Hungarian Horntail. With such a feat on record, he placed the shards of the broken egg as a decorative piece on his sword. Which is kept safely locked up in the WCA treasure vaults. By his standards, all members of his house must be courageous and willing to do what they feel is right.
Vizcaino
(Slytherin)
"House of the cunning"
This house was founded by a young wizard. He brought what others called 'evil' to West Coast Academy. Other simply just accused him of a cold hearted soul. This wizard favored pure-bloods and simply discouraged half-bloods or muggle born witches and wizards. Some documents state that he eventually married a muggle-born, and killed himself over it. There is no evidence to prove this because he himself went missing from all records once the wedding bells were ringing.
